Monday July 12
After dinner I went to the trainstation with Mihailo, my parents were arriving by train! The train is on time every day, except today of course... We had to wait 45 minutes. Very nice to see them after 6 months!
Tuesday July 13
We woke up at 8:30 and had breakfast together. After that we went to the Woodcenter to get coffee.. Next to the wood center there is this totum pole, finally I saw it up close! The theme is women of Alaska. Here's a picture, and also one of the Wood Center that is deserted now that most of the students went home...
After lunch we took the "city"bus to downtown. There's not much to see there, the main attraction is this fountain! It was a very warm day by the way... 31 C!!
Of course we also had to visit Hot Licks :)
On our way back we had to take this picture as real tourists (or students? :) ) of the thermometer sign of the University. If everybody has to pay a dollar for that, the university would be very rich!
As you can see, it was still 26 degrees late at night.
Wednesday July 14
On Wednesday we were picked up at 11 AM by Rolf from Go North, I went with them. My parents are renting the same camper as I did, only they have a silver color one. It all looked fine, and after signing all the forms we could leave!
After this we drove to Pioneer Park/Alaskaland, because my parents wanted an old style picture like Celia and me. It was so much fun to see my mother in such a dress and my dad in a suit... The photo is very nice!
Thursday July 15
On Thursday I had breakfast with my parents, and after that they brought me to work. For them it was the start of their trip and for me the start of my working day ;)
Friday July 16
After work I went to the Fox Brewery with Mihailo, on fridays from 5-7 PM you can visit the brewery and taste beer for free.
Half a glass was enough for me, but it was fun! James and his girlfriend were also there.
At night I went out with Honie and Mihailo. We went dancing in the Silver Spur again, and ended the night in the Blue Loon.
Saturday July 17

Sunday July 18
On Sundaymorning I finally saw the car that makes so much noise!! This is how they water the bushes here....!!
Monday July 19
On Monday it was good weather, and in our lunchbreak I went to Beaver Sport with Mihailo and Diana. I bought the sandals that I've been wanting to buy for a while now! They are really nice, I'm not sure if they sell them in Europe. They have only one strap and you can change it on all places so they are really comfortable!
Diana bought inline skates, Mihailo wanted someone to skate with... Of course they had to try them at once at the parking lot behind the IARC...
Thursday July 22
At night a nice cloud came over and I went outside to take pictures. I was just to late to take good pictures, but it was still impressive. I got soaking wet, but well I'm a meteorologist ;)
